State Bureau, Lucknow. To simplify the tax system and make maximum use of technology, the government has implemented the system of virtual hearing for big taxpayers. This will make the justice process fast, transparent and time bound. This process of virtual hearing, applicable at the level of Joint Commissioner (Corporate) and Joint Commissioner (Corporate Cell-Oil Sector), will be effective from 20th February.
Principal Secretary, State Tax Kamini Ratan Chauhan said that under normal circumstances, personal hearing of registered taxpayers at all Joint Commissioner (Corporate) and Joint Commissioner (Corporate Sale-Oil Sector) levels of the state will be compulsorily conducted as virtual hearing.
This arrangement will be in accordance with various sections of the Uttar Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. Keeping in mind the convenience of big taxpayers, this option will be made available that if for some reason they want to get the hearing done in a virtual hearing through their authorized representative, then this opportunity can also be given to them after considering their application.
Commissioner, State Tax, Dr. Nitin Bansal said that in the process of physical hearing, many times the taxpayers or their authorized representatives were not able to be present on time, due to which adjournment had to be taken. Many times, the intention of speedy justice was also affected due to the officer being on leave on the appointed date.
