Jagran correspondent, Srinagar. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some parts of Kashmir if a western disturbance becomes active on January 16-17. There will be fog in Jammu for the next three days. The valley is completely in the grip of cold wave.

Although the day temperature is above normal in most parts of the state, life is affected due to severe cold at night. Train and air services are continuously disrupted. Tourist spot Sonamarg in Ganderbal district was the coldest in the valley with the mercury at minus 7.0 degrees Celsius.

According to Meteorological Center Srinagar, there may be light rain and snowfall in some parts between January 19 and 24. The day temperature is above normal in most parts of the valley. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Srinagar remains around 180.

The maximum temperature was 13.2 degrees Celsius in the capital Srinagar, 9.6 in Pahalgam and 10.0 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg. The day started with dense fog in Jammu. But in the afternoon the weather cleared and there was sunshine. The maximum temperature recorded here was 16.0 degrees Celsius.

Due to fog, two flights coming from Delhi were canceled at Jammu airport on Tuesday. One plane was to reach Jammu at 9.35 am and the other at 11.20 am. At the same time, the Indigo Airlines flight coming from Ahmedabad reached Jammu at 1.25 pm instead of 11.25 am.

Similarly, the Indigo flight coming from Srinagar arrived with a delay of 15 minutes at 12.50. Passengers had to face problems due to the delay of planes. In Jammu division too, cold has increased due to fog, due to which normal life is getting affected. Drivers are also facing problems in the morning and evening.
