Police Attack On Drugs In Kullu, Chitta And Lakhs Of Rupees In Cash Recovered From Bhuntar Hotel, Two Arrested

Communication partner, Kullu. STF Kullu has achieved great success under the special campaign being run against drugs in district Kullu. Based on secret information, the Special Task Force STF team has busted a case of drug smuggling by raiding a private hotel in Bhuntar on Monday night.

During the operation, after searching room number 303 of the hotel, the police recovered 18.80 grams of chitta and Rs 1,02,600 in cash. Police have arrested 23 year old Vikas Deep Singh son of Savinder Singh, resident of house number 387, Majitha Road, Khandewala Chowk, near Model Study School, Thana Majitha Road, Tehsil and District Amritsar (Punjab) and 21 year old Poonam daughter of Lalit Singh, resident of village and post office Bandrol, Tehsil and District Kullu, from the spot.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that both the accused were staying in the hotel and may be linked to the supply of drugs. In this regard, a case has been registered under sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotics Act at Bhuntar police station. The police is interrogating the accused and gathering information about the drug network, supply chain and other involved persons. This entire action was carried out by the team of STF Kullu, which included Head Constable Rajesh Kumar, Head Constable Sameer Kumar, Lady Constable Sarita, HHC Nitesh and Constable Ashok Kumar.

STF Deputy Superintendent of Police Hemraj said that strict campaign against drug trade will continue in district Kullu and people involved at any level will not be spared.
