The Pony and Sleigh Association said they are demanding justice as their business has been badly affected.
Jagran correspondent, Srinagar. Gulmarg Pony and Sledge Association expressed concern against vehicles being allowed to take tourists directly to the Gondola and other places.
According to the association, this will jeopardize the livelihood of about 5,000 families who traditionally run their businesses. The president of the association said that the local government is ignoring them. “We have requested the MLAs of Gulmarg, Baramulla and Kreri several times, but no concrete steps have been taken,” he asked.
The Speaker asked, where will these 5,000 families dependent on pony and sledge business go? The officials are only concerned about the construction work.
They have failed to care about the people associated with the sled and pony business. He said, if the concerned MLAs fail to give us justice, we will be forced to take to the streets within two weeks and the government will be responsible for it.
The Chairman said that their (pony and sled) employees are registered. He said, for the last two-three years, the concerned institutions are facing serious problems and our livelihood has been badly affected. In such a situation, our work has become even more complicated due to the administration giving permission to vehicles to reach the Gondola.
