State Bureau, Lucknow. Schemes stuck in files, permissions pending for years and lack of coordination between departments, these problems which were once considered the identity of Uttar Pradesh, have now become a thing of the past. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (Pragati) has changed the thinking, working style and results of governance. ‘Pragati’ portal has today become not only a review mechanism but also a powerful symbol of the new work culture of the new India.
In a press conference at his residence, 5 Kalidas Marg, the Chief Minister said that the Pragati model inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proved that when strong will, technical means and accountability come on one platform, results emerge automatically. Through digital governance and cooperative federalism, it has become possible to complete even the most complex projects in a timely manner.
The Chief Minister said that the Pragati model has made the state the infrastructure growth engine of the country. The state currently has the country's largest infrastructure portfolio of 330 projects worth Rs 10.48 lakh crore. Of these, 128 projects worth Rs 2.37 lakh crore have been completed and commissioned, while 202 projects worth Rs 8.11 lakh crore will be completed within the stipulated time frame.
The Chief Minister said that through Pragati Portal, all the concerned departments including Revenue, Forest, Pollution Control Board, Urban Development are sitting on one platform and taking decisions. This has led to unprecedented speed in permissions and approvals and has transformed UP from a “bottleneck” state to a “breakthrough” state. Today Uttar Pradesh is not in the role of "facilitator" but rather in the role of "accelerator". Technology-based platforms like Pragati have strengthened the Team India spirit and given a new impetus to development as well as employment generation. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna was also present on this occasion.
