Preparation To Restart Sakri And Raiyam Sugar Mills In Bihar, 2401 Villages Reserved For Sugarcane Supply.

State Bureau, Patna. The Cooperative Department has taken the responsibility of restarting the Sakri and Raiyam sugar mills which were closed for years. Sugarcane will be supplied to them by farmers of 2401 villages.

On Friday, the Sugarcane Industry Department has reserved villages in Madhubani and Darbhanga districts respectively for both the sugar mills. Those mills will get sugarcane from reserved villages for crushing.

Initiatives are being taken to restart closed sugar mills and establish new sugar mills in Bihar. For this, a high level committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. Sakri of Madhubani district and Raiyam sugar mill of Darbhanga district are being operated in the same sequence.

Farmers from 686 villages of Madhubani district and 697 villages of Darbhanga district will supply their sugarcane to Sakri Sugar Mill. Similarly, farmers of 438 villages of Madhubani district and 580 villages of Darbhanga district will sell sugarcane to Raiyam Sugar Mill.

Sakri Mill: A total of 686 villages of Andhrathadi, Baburahi, Ghoghadiha, Jhanjharpur, Ladniya, Lucknow, Laukahan, Laukahi, Madhepur, Pandaur, Phulparas and Rajnagar blocks of Madhubani district. A total of 580 villages of Barhi, Maniganchhi, Tardih, Alinagar, Benipur, Biraul, Dhanshyampur, Gaurabauram, Kiratpur, Kusheshwarsthan, Kusheshwarsthan (East) and Darbhanga block of Darbhanga district are reserved.

Raiyam Mill: 580 villages of Bahadurpur, Hayaghat, Hanumannagar, Jale, Singhwara and Koiri blocks of Darbhanga district. A total of 438 villages of Basopatti, Benipatti, Bisfi, Harlakhi, Jaynagar, Kaluhi, Khajauli, Rahika and Madhwapur blocks of Madhubani district have been reserved.
