Jagran correspondent, Shahjahanpur. On the very first day of the new year, the new timetable of the Railways has increased the problems of the passengers. Under the new timetable implemented from January 1, the arrival and departure timings of 58 trains stopping at Shahjahanpur railway station have been changed. In these, the timing of many trains has been changed by one or two minutes, while the timing of some trains has been moved forward by half an hour to one hour, this also includes Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express.

Railway passengers had to face problems due to the sudden change. Vande Bharat Express will arrive at the train station at 10.08 am, an hour before its scheduled time. Due to not getting the information about the new timetable in time, many passengers not only on the first day but also on the second day on Friday, reached the station as per the old time, but the train had already left.

In this, the Railways app betrayed the most, on which the time has not been updated yet. There was a crowd of passengers and an atmosphere of chaos at Shahjahanpur railway station since morning. Many passengers kept waiting on the platform after taking tickets, but when the train did not arrive, upon inquiring they came to know that the time had been changed. Some passengers were forced to travel by other trains, while many passengers had to cancel their journey.

Railway passengers said that information about the change in timetable was neither given clearly at the station nor could the information be received in time through the railway app and other means. If they had received information in advance, they could have reached the station on time. Especially the passengers coming from far away places had to face more problems.

CMI SK Thakur said that Railways has appealed to the passengers to get information about the released timetable of trains before travelling. Travel only after getting information from the railway website, NTES app or station, so that inconvenience can be avoided.
