Initiative to connect new users directly to BHIM App.
Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. To give a new impetus to the campaign of Digital India, 'BHIM' app has proudly launched a special initiative called Swadeshi on completion of 10 years of its inception. The campaign aims not only to encourage digital payments but also to instill confidence in India's own indigenous payments platform. Its benefits were explained to the consumers of Ranchi through the press on Thursday.
Lalita Nataraj, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, NBSL, said that this initiative is a big step towards making new users a part of the digital economy. He stressed that the BHIM app is completely secure and simple, which has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the common man.
Highlights of the campaign
Under this campaign, a special offer has been introduced to add new users. Currently, any new user who installs the BHIM app for the first time and creates his UPI ID will be given a flat cashback of Rs 20 on the first transaction of Rs 20 or more. This scheme is specially designed to attract customers doing small transactions, so that they can experience digital payments without any hesitation.
Will other app (Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay) users get the benefit?
It is necessary to clarify here that the benefit of this scheme will be available only on transactions done through BHIM app. If you are using other UPI apps like Paytm, PhonePe or Google Pay, you will not be able to avail the benefit of this special cashback. However, if existing users of these apps download the 'BHIM' app for the first time and create a new profile and transact there, they may be eligible for this cashback as 'New Users'. This campaign has been launched purely to increase the user base of BHIM app.

A huge response is being seen regarding this campaign in the capital Ranchi.
Till now I used to use other private apps, but after knowing about the Swadeshi campaign, I tried the BHIM app. Cashback received as soon as the first transaction was made. Since it is a government and indigenous app, there is no fear in the mind regarding security.
