Due to the changed picture, now there is fragrance instead of bad smell.

Ajay Srivastava, Jagran, Lucknow: On Thursday, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rashtra Prerna Sthal built near Basant Kunj on Hardoi Road. His Lucknow MPs were also Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Let us know about this place where the National Inspiration Site has been constructed. This is a place where it was not possible to stand for a second because of the smell of the garbage heap. Here, before leaving the road, one had to close one's nose from a distance of one kilometre. The windows of the cars were closed. Every day about 1200 metric tons of garbage from localities across the city was being collected here. Gradually the name of this place became Ghaila's garbage site. This place was of Ghaila village, but now the view has changed.

Due to the changed picture, now there is fragrance instead of bad smell.

'Rashtra Prerna Sthal' is being considered as a unique effort to convey the thoughts and invaluable contributions of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, known as the trinity of Indian nationalism, to the common people. Rashtra Prerna Sthal has been built in the shape of a lotus.

65-65 feet tall bronze statues of the pinnacle men of nationalism Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee have been constructed in the Prerna Sthal. Which has been created by world famous sculptor Ram Sutar and Matu Ram Art Creations. A museum dedicated to national heroes has also been constructed in the complex. The country's journey to nationalism is depicted through the mural art of the Indian independence movement and freedom fighters on the interpretation wall of the museum. The statue of Bharat Mata, a symbol of national spirit, has been installed in the courtyard of the museum. Galleries dedicated to national heroes bring alive their lives, ideologies and struggles. Besides, synthetic track, meditation centre, Vipassana centre, yoga centre, helipad and cafeteria have also been constructed in the Rashtra Prerna Sthal complex. Apart from this, an amphitheater with a capacity of 3000 and a rally venue with a capacity of about two lakh has also been constructed in the complex. The Rashtra Prerna Sthal is not only a point of historical memory but will also inculcate the feeling of nationalism in the future generations.

Big task of urban planning

This unique experience and use of urban planning will serve as guidance to those cities which are troubled by mountains of garbage. About six lakh metric tons of garbage was treated and the place was evacuated. The soil and manure prepared from the garbage was used for filling the fields, which was about 4.80 tonnes. In fact, during the construction of Kisan Path, the farmers had sold the soil of their fields at asking prices and they needed soil for filling, which was used from the soil prepared from the garbage.

Polythene given to Vijendra Energy Company

About fifteen percent of the polythene extracted from the garbage was given to Vijendra Energy Company of Meerut, which was used to generate electricity. When the garbage collected in Ghaila from 1990 to 1997 was set on fire from time to time, a plume of smoke was visible due to the formation of methane and at some places a flame was visible. When fire brigade vehicles were called and it was extinguished, the smell of water-soaked garbage would go far in the rain. The mountain of garbage that was making the environment of the entire area sick had made people breathless. The foul smell of garbage from coolers and such would reach into the houses. Garbage collection in Ghaila had stopped since 1997, but the mountain of garbage visible from a distance was not reducing the problem. In 2020, the government decided to eliminate the garbage mountain of Ghaila and Jal Nigam's Construction and Design Services (C&DS) was appointed as the executing agency. In the global tender held at the government level in 2021, this work was given to Muskaan Sanstha of Lucknow for Rs 13 crore. With the help of machines, the garbage was filtered and the soil was separated. Within three years, 80 percent of the soil was separated and used for filling at various places. Mewalal, director of Muskan Sanstha, used to say that as much garbage was taken out for management, the same amount started appearing again. The reason is that due to water logging during the rains, the garbage had become moist at the bottom. LDA used its land as a place of national inspiration and the picture of the changed view there is in the eyes of the country and the world. Additional Municipal Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Dr. Arvind Rao says that the mountain of garbage from Ghaila was a stain on the city, which was eliminated. It was learned from this that out of the twenty lakh metric ton garbage collected by the Municipal Corporation in Mohan Road Shivri, one million metric ton has been treated and this work is going on.
