Lok Adalat organized under the aegis of Haryana State Legal Services Authority.
Jagran correspondent, Panchkula. A total of 19,142 cases were taken up in a single day in the National Lok Adalat held at District Court, Panchkula and Sub-Division Kalka, out of which 18,339 cases were disposed of. An impressive settlement amount of Rs 1 crore 21 lakh 97,648 was recorded during this period.
Pre-litigation and pending cases including civil, criminal, negotiable, revenue, traffic challan, bank recovery, motor accident claims, family disputes are settled in Lok Adalat.
This brought great relief to the common people, especially those involved in traffic challans and small disputes. The decisions taken by mutual agreement are final and binding, with no provision for appeal and this is its biggest strength.
The event was organized under the aegis of Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) with the aim of ensuring speedy, effective and amicable resolution of disputes.
For the convenience of the public, a special help desk was set up in the District Court complex, which facilitated the participation of litigants by providing information related to Lok Adalat benches, nature of cases and disposal process. This further strengthened access to justice.
