'Vande Mataram' and 'Self-reliant India' main themes of Republic Day 2026.

Digital Desk, New Delhi. This time India's 77th Republic Day will resonate with the mantras of freedom and prosperity. The theme of the grand parade on the duty path has been kept as 'Mantra of Freedom - Vande Mataram' and 'Mantra of Prosperity - Self-reliant India'.

30 tableaux and 2,500 artists will perform

A total of 30 tableaux will enthrall the audience on this occasion, out of which 17 will be from States and Union Territories, while 13 will be from various Ministries and Departments. Also, around 2,500 artists will enthrall the audience with cultural performances.

'Vande Mataram' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' is the main theme

This year, European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend Republic Day as chief guests. His presence will give new strength to India-Europe relations.

Tableaux of these states will be shown

Many states which could not participate in the parade last year will showcase their cultural heritage this time. These include Assam, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and Maharashtra.

Apart from this, tableaux of Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu will also be the center of attraction.

Traditional handicrafts to be given prominence in tableaux

The traditional handicrafts of Ashirkandi village will be given prominence in the tableau of Assam. Gujarat and Chhattisgarh will present the 'Vande Mataram' theme in a unique style.

The tableau of Maharashtra will depict Ganeshotsav as a symbol of self-reliance. At the same time, West Bengal will show the role of Bengal in the freedom struggle.
