Jagran correspondent, Modipuram. Meerut-Baghpat has got first place in the state in terms of bank deposits. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Vimal Sharma, Chairman of Meerut-Baghpat District Cooperative Bank, in a program organized in Lucknow.
In fact, in the year 2024-25, around Rs 500 crore bank deposits were made in District Co-operative Banks from across Uttar Pradesh. Of these, Rs 125 crore were deposited in the District Co-operative Bank of Meerut-Baghpat alone. In a program organized in Lucknow on Sunday, the Chief Minister honored Vimal Sharma, Chairman of Meerut-Baghpat District Cooperative Bank, with a citation.
Vimal Sharma said that in the financial sector, having a deposit of Rs 125 crore in the District Cooperative Bank of Meerut-Baghpat is a big achievement. Due to which Meerut-Baghpat has got the first position in the state. In the program, the Chief Minister praised the work of District Cooperative Bank Meerut and said that cooperative banks are becoming a strong link of economic empowerment in rural and urban areas.
