Saharanpur News: Threat Of Murder If The Case Is Not Withdrawn, Allegations Of Rape Of The Victim And Making Obscene Videos, Case Registered

Jagran correspondent, Saharanpur. A case of attempted rape and assault on the victim for not withdrawing the SC-ST Act case has come to light in a village in Kotwali Dehat area. The victim told that the sisters of the accused entered her house, beat her up and threatened to kill her if the case was not withdrawn. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim and started investigation.

The victim told that on March 13, 2024, Lalit, a youth from the same village, had taken her to a hotel, made her drink intoxicants, raped her and made an obscene video of her. The accused was blackmailed by threatening to make the video viral on the internet media. The accused tried to rape her by taking her to his friend's house in the village itself. The victim escaped and reached home and told her mother. When the victim's mother came with the complaint, the accused's family beat her up and threatened to kill her if she took any action.

The victim alleges that despite the complaint, the police registered a case of molestation and assault instead of rape. Despite the CO's investigation and the victim's statement in the court, the police did not increase the section of rape in the case nor arrested the accused. Due to this, on Thursday, two sisters of the accused forcibly entered the house and abused him and beat him up. When the case was not withdrawn, he kicked and punched the victim and tried to kill her by strangulating her with a chunni. Hearing the screams of the victim, nearby people arrived and both the sisters left, threatening to kill her if the case registered against Lalit was not withdrawn. The victim alleged that there was a threat to her life and demanded strict action.

Kotwali Dehat in-charge Sube Singh said that on the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against two girls in the case. Action will be taken after investigation. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused Lalit.
