Severe Cold Wreaks Havoc In Gorakhpur, Fog Engulfs Sunlight, Sharp Drop In Temperature

Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. Today's weather: The sunshine that had been shining for two days was covered by dense fog on Saturday. In such a situation, the maximum temperature of the city dropped once again. It was bitterly cold the whole day.

Even after the minimum temperature increased due to fog, there was no respite from the cold at night. Due to the difference of only about three degrees Celsius between maximum and minimum temperatures, melting conditions continued from day to night.

According to meteorologist Kailash Pandey, this has happened due to the activation of another western disturbance. The results of this activism will be visible for the next two to three days. One has to be prepared to face the havoc of severe cold and fog. Another western disturbance will be active in three-four days, with its help the process of melting cold will continue till Makar Sankranti.

An unprecedented change in temperature was seen on Saturday. The maximum temperature which was recorded just a day ago at 21 degrees Celsius, fell by about seven degrees Celsius to 14.3 degrees Celsius. This happened due to the westerly wind blowing at a height of 3000 feet in the upper atmosphere.

The westerly wind brought the cold of the mountains to eastern Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, there was severe cold on Saturday. The cold was also helped by the easterly wind blowing on the surface. Due to this, fog increased and due to absence of sunlight the maximum temperature fell and the minimum increased.

According to meteorologists, according to the current atmospheric conditions, the maximum temperature will remain around 15 degrees Celsius for the next three days. The minimum temperature will also fall from 11.7 degrees Celsius to a record of between seven to nine degrees. Due to fog, the minimum temperature on Saturday had increased by 5.3 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day.
