Jagran correspondent, New Tehri. The district police arrested Vicky Yadav, a shooter carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand, wanted in a murder case, from his home in village Haldi, Ballia, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The accused has been sent to jail.
This arrest was made by a joint team of CIU and Munikireti police station. On May 7, Vicky and another of his associates had shot dead Nitin Dev, a cafe operator, in Deccan Valley Society of Munikireti police station area. Due to rivalry, a resident of Tapovan had asked the shooters to commit the murder. Let us tell you, the police has already arrested four other accused involved in this murder case.
Additional Superintendent of Police JR Joshi said in a press conference on Saturday that at around 11 pm on May 7, the Munikireti police station had received information that a person riding a scooter in Deccan Valley Society, Tapovan, shot a cafe operator of the society, Nitin Dev, son of Devraj, resident of flat number 403, Deccan Valley Society, Tapovan, and absconded. On receiving this information, the police immediately reached the spot and found Nitin dead, soaked in blood. Nitin was the operator of Hide-Out Cafe in Tapovan area and Jeevan Utsav Resort located in Bhogpur.
Forensic team collected evidence from the scene
The forensic team collected evidence from the spot and examined the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby. On the other hand, Nitin's father Devraj filed a complaint in this matter, on the basis of which Munikireti police registered a case of murder and started searching for the accused. During investigation, the police came to know that there was a long standing dispute and rivalry between Nitin and Vipin Nayyar, resident of Tapovan area. Vipin had complained about Nitin's cafe and resort to many departments, due to which Nitin's cafe was even sealed once.
Investigation also revealed that in September 2024, Vipin was lodged in Dehradun jail in rape and POCSO Act cases, during which time Nitin had advocated against him. Due to this rivalry, he was bent on taking revenge after being released on bail in January 2025. Police investigation revealed that when Vipin was lodged in Dehradun jail, he was friends with a criminal Ramveer Singh. Vipin had conspired to murder Nitin in the jail itself.
After coming out on bail, Vipin, through Ramveer and his associate Vimlesh alias Vikas, hired two shooters in Deccan Valley Society on the basis of fake identity cards. Where the shooters, after recce, fired four shots from the pistol and killed Nitin. On the basis of analysis of call details and money transactions, the police arrested the accused Vimlesh on May 16, on whose trail further links were added.
Nitin came on bail, had already gone to jail
Meanwhile, Nitin, who was out on bail, had gone to jail, while the court had issued notices for the arrest of the accused Vicky Yadav, son of Ramnath Yadav, resident of village Haldi, police station Haldi, district Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, who was absconding since the incident. Inspector General of Police Garhwal Zone had announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand on the accused Vicky.
Now on Saturday, Additional Superintendent of Police JR Joshi exposed the matter in a press conference and said that on December 12, on the information of an informer, the team formed by him has arrested the accused Vicky from his residence in village Haldi, Ballia and he has been sent to jail. Investigation has revealed that accused Vicky Yadav already has serious criminal cases registered against him. A case is registered against him in Haldi police station, Ballia.
