Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. A special campaign was conducted on Sunday to digitize 100% voter counting in SIR (Special Voter Revision Programme), in which BLOs were present at their respective booths. During this period, there was enthusiasm among the voters for submitting the SIR form.
On the instructions of the Election Commission, the administration has intensified the voter verification campaign to make the upcoming election processes transparent and error-free. Voters reached the booths in large numbers on Sunday to submit SIR forms. Deputy District Election Officer Saurabh Bhatt said that work is being done at a fast pace on digitalizing the data.
He said that till now more than 56 percent of the farm work has been digitized. Apart from this, 36 percent voters have themselves confirmed their information. At the same time, verification of 38 percent is still pending.
Shifted and unavailable voters become a challenge
According to the SIR report, there are a large number of forms which have been kept in the uncollectible category. These include voters who are not found available. Apart from this, voters who have permanently shifted to another place in Shifted are also affecting the SIR.
According to officials, the BLO team that has entered such fields is facing the most difficulties.
There will be full update before the elections
According to the district administration, this time special emphasis is on mismatched data, wrong addresses and identification of unavailable voters. Officials said that clear instructions have been given to the teams that 100% updating of the voter list should be completed before the election announcement.
Publishing the voter list that is completely accurate and error-free is a priority. With the use of digital platforms, the process has become more transparent than before.
