State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow: The Chief Electoral Officer has taken seriously the issue of absurd and wrong house numbers being recorded in the draft voter list released after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign in Uttar Pradesh. The campaign in the state started from November 4 till December 26.
Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, taking cognizance of the complaint received from Dhaurahara Assembly constituency of Lakhimpur Kheri, has asked the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) there and the District Election Officer of Kheri to clarify the reason for the entire matter. Here, the name of the village is recorded in the voter list instead of the house number of many voters. The Chief Electoral Officer has also instructed all the districts to correct such errors in time, so that there are no discrepancies in the final voter list.
In the voter list of Dhaurahara Assembly constituency of Lakhimpur Kheri, Gudpurwa is written in the house numbers of many voters in section number one Pasianpurwa. This matter came to light when the voter list here was posted on Internet Media X and the Chief Electoral Officer and District Election Officer were tagged. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa sought clarification from District Election Officer Kheri and ERO of Dhaurahara. He has asked how such absurd house numbers appeared in the draft voter list.
Names of the dead in Noida voter list
SP has complained that the names of many dead people are also included in the voter list of Noida Assembly constituency of Gautam Buddha Nagar. Here in the voter list of Parthala Khanjarpur Sector 122, there are many names which are no more in this world. Family members say that despite the BLO being informed, the names of the dead people came. The Chief Electoral Officer is also investigating this matter. Responsibility in this case will be decided only on the basis of the findings of the investigation.
