Sirmaur News: Now Women Also Active In Drug Smuggling, Three From Uttarakhand Arrested With Hashish

Jagran correspondent, Nahan. Police have arrested three women with 835 grams of charas against drug smuggling in district Sirmaur. According to the information received, the team of Police Post Singhpura had already received information through secret information that some people were going to come from Khodri Majri area towards Gojar with a consignment of drugs.

As soon as the information was received, the police team increased vigilance in the area and cordoned off the area and started keeping an eye on suspicious activities.

After some time, three women were seen coming on foot. The police stopped and searched them on the basis of suspicion. During the search, 835 grams of hashish was recovered from his possession, after which he was taken into custody on the spot.

The accused have been identified as Shanu Rai wife Hari Das resident Shahpur Kalyanpur Dharmawala Post Office Harbatpur Tehsil Vikasnagar district Dehradun Uttarakhand, Babita wife Manoj resident Bhimawala Post Office Vikasnagar district Dehradun Uttarakhand and Ashiya Parbeen wife Tasin Ali resident Vidyapeeth Marg Vikasnagar district Dehradun Uttarakhand.

According to the local people, due to the involvement of women coming to light, there is an atmosphere of discussion in the area and concern has also increased about the changing methods of drug smuggling. Police have registered a case against the three accused in Puruwala police station under sections 20, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

The process of arresting the accused and obtaining police remand from the court is going on. The investigation is to find out from where the recovered drugs were brought and where it was to be supplied, so that the entire network can be exposed.

Confirming the matter, District Sirmaur Superintendent of Police Nischint Singh Negi said that the campaign against drug trafficking is continuing and no person involved in it will be spared. He also appealed to the common citizens to cooperate with the police against drugs.
