Jagran correspondent, Panchkula. The Swadeshi Mela started on Friday at the Parade Ground in Sector-5, Panchkula. A large number of people arrived on the very first day. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the people to see the indigenous products and Indian culture closely.

The stalls set up by artisans and entrepreneurs from different states of the country are attracting people in the fair. A wide range of Khadi textiles, handicrafts, Ayurvedic products, organic food items, indigenous spices, traditional decorative items and products related to indigenous industries are available in the fair.

This grand Swadeshi fair organized by Swadeshi Jagran Manch was inaugurated by Haryana BJP State President Mohanlal Badoli by lighting the lamp. North Zone Coordinator Rajesh Goyal welcomed the chief guests with a bouquet. An impressive message of indigenous goods, Indian culture and the spirit of self-reliant India was seen in the inauguration ceremony.

On this occasion, Swami Sampurnanand Maharaj, prominent speaker of RSS Pawan Jindal were present as special guests. Many dignitaries including former Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta, Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, Fair Organizing Committee Chairman Rajneesh Garg, North Zone Coordinator Swadeshi Director Rajesh Goyal were present in the program. A large number of city residents, representatives of social organizations and youth participated in the inauguration ceremony.

Swami Sampurnanand Maharaj said in his address that Swadeshi is not just a business but a culture and ideology. He said that society can become self-reliant only by adopting Swadeshi and such fairs are a powerful medium to preserve our cultural heritage.
