Regarding this, Nagar Panchayat will soon install Tank Type Stand Post (TTSP) in Prophet Nagar, Rudra Nagar and Prakash Nagar. With the installation of TTSP, people will get relief from the problem of drinking water. Besides, it has also been decided to replace the old water pipeline laid in the city.
The water supplied from the water tank in the town has been dirty for about a month. The city residents were continuously complaining about this. Regarding this, SDM Gautam Singh, Jalkal and Jal Nigam team have been active in the affected areas for three days.
On the instructions of the SDM, the health department team is also visiting door-to-door health checkups of people. At present, it has not been confirmed that anyone has fallen ill due to drinking dirty water, yet the administration has stopped the people of the affected area from drinking the supplied water and for the last three days, the team of Maharajganj and Bachhrawan Nagar Panchayat has been supplying water to these areas by tanker.
Nagar Panchayat President Sarla Sahu said that the town has laid a pipeline that is about 50 years old. Water supply is being done through this pipeline. It has been proposed to change this under the drinking water scheme.
The pipeline will be changed after the budget is released. Executive Officer Ram Ashish says that it has been decided to install three tank type stand posts in Prophet Nagar in a week. Tank type stand posts will also be installed in the affected area.
Sampling will continue until there is potable water.
Additional District Magistrate Administration Siddharth Kumar visited the town on Monday and talked to the people. ADM said that people were talked to on the spot. Complaints have been received about smelly water supply. Leaks have been found at one or two places in the pipeline, which are being repaired. Due to this, people have been stopped from drinking the supplied water.
Water supply is being done through tanker. So far water samples have been taken from 12 houses. Testing will continue until the water becomes potable.
