Samvad Sutra, Nayagaon. A worrying case has come to light from Sonpur police station area, where after the disappearance of a teenage girl who had gone to the Sonpur fair, the family members are being given ransom demands and death threats on mobile phones. The victim's family is in deep shock and fear due to these threats.
According to the application given by the victim's mother, her minor daughter had gone to the fair but did not return home till late night. After this, the family members searched the fair premises and surrounding areas throughout the night, but could not find any trace of the girl.
Meanwhile, a call came on the family members' phones from an unknown mobile number, in which the accused demanded money in exchange for the safe return of the girl. The caller also said that after receiving the money, he would take the girl to the said place. According to the relatives, when they tried to contact that number again, the phone was said to be switched off. It is alleged that during this time, a call was made from another number and a threat was made that if the police or anyone was informed, the girl would be murdered. This has increased the family's worries further. The victim's mother fears that her daughter has been kidnapped with wrong intentions and any untoward incident may happen to her. Regarding the matter, the victim's family has appealed to the administration to ensure the safe recovery of the girl by taking prompt and strict legal action in the light of the application. According to police sources, considering the seriousness of the matter, investigation has been started and further action is being taken on the basis of call details.
