The terror of animal smugglers is continuously increasing in Patha area. On Sunday evening, animal smugglers took away more than half a hundred goats from Kusmi forest of Markundi police station area. When they protested, they attacked two shepherds with an axe, seriously injured them, tied them to a tree and ran away.
55-year-old Ramnarayan Yadav and 54-year-old Babbu Yadav, residents of Majra Kusmuhi, Bambiya, were grazing their goats in the forest. Meanwhile, half a dozen miscreants armed with axes, axes and sticks arrived and suddenly attacked both of them. The miscreants tied his hands and legs with a rope, threw him in the forest and ran away with 52 goats.
In the attack, Ramnarayan Yadav suffered a serious injury on his head with an axe, his condition is said to be critical. Both the injured have been admitted to Community Health Center Majhgawan in Madhya Pradesh district Satna for treatment. When the shepherds did not return home till late evening, the relatives started searching and the incident came to light.
On receiving the information, Markundi police reached the spot. It is noteworthy that this is the second major incident in Markundi police station area in 15 days. Earlier on December 5, more than 40 goats were stolen after beating the shepherds in the forest of Dodamafi village, which the police has not been able to uncover till now.
Due to the continuous incidents, there is an atmosphere of fear among the farmers and cattle herders of the area. Markundi police station in-charge Nishikant Rai said that on the basis of the complaint received, the police is raiding the area by registering a case against unknown miscreants.
