Samvad Sutra, Barauni (Begusarai). Many important works have been approved at Tilrath station with the aim of increasing the convenience of railway passengers and capacity to transport goods. Some new development works have been proposed in the financial year 2025-26.
According to railway sources, the goods shed of Tilrath station is being modernized under the works approved in the year 2023-24. This includes service building, goods supervisor room, traders room, workers rest room, toilet, concretization of goods wharf and construction of access road.
Approval of approximately Rs 07.25 crore has been received for this work. Under this, work will be started soon. Apart from this, work of additional goods line to increase the capacity of rack handling has been sanctioned at a cost of approximately Rs 15.08 crore. Earth filling work is in progress.
This will ensure smooth transportation of goods and the increasing goods traffic at the station can be handled better. Keeping in mind the safety and convenience of passengers, a new 3.0 meter wide foot over bridge is proposed in the financial year 2025-26 which will connect platforms one and two.
Besides, construction of high level platform one and two is also proposed. The estimated cost of this work is Rs 07.71 crore. At present there is no footover bridge at the station. Apart from this, it is proposed to construct retaining wall and approach road for full operation of additional goods line, the estimated cost of which is Rs 15.35 crore.
This will increase the internal security of goods sheds and will be very beneficial for traders. With the completion of all these development works, there will be improvement in railway passenger facilities at Tilrath station, increase in capacity of goods transportation and increase in local trade and regional development.
