5 inspirational personalities will get Gaurav Samman in Lucknow
Digital Desk, Lucknow. The main function of Uttar Pradesh Day-2026 is being organized this year at the newly constructed Rashtra Prerna Sthal in the capital Lucknow. This three-day grand function will be inaugurated by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday. On this occasion, five distinguished personalities who have made Uttar Pradesh proud at the national and international level will be honored with 'Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman 2025-26' by the state government. The personalities who will be honored with the Gaurav Samman this year include personalities who have made significant contributions in diverse fields like space science, education, literature, women empowerment and agriculture.
Shubhanshu Shukla honored for historic achievement in space science. Among the personalities to be honored with Gaurav Samman 2025-26, astronaut resident of capital Lucknow and Wing Commander of Indian Air Force Shubhanshu Shukla is included. Shubhanshu Shukla created history by reaching the International Space Station (ISS) on June 26, 2025 after launch by SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. He became the first Indian astronaut to step on the ISS. However, he is the second Indian after Rakesh Sharma to go to space. This achievement of his is going to take India's space program to new heights and also make Uttar Pradesh proud.
Alakh Pandey, who brought revolution in education, will be honored with UP Gaurav Samman. Prayagraj resident Alakh Pandey, who brought revolutionary changes in the field of education, will be honored with UP Gaurav Samman. Alakh Pandey started the YouTube channel ‘Physics Wala’ in the year 2016 for students preparing for competitive exams. The app of the same name, launched in the year 2020, benefited crores of students by providing affordable and quality education. In the year 2022, his company became India's sixth edtech unicorn. This platform, with over 10 million subscribers, has made education more inclusive and democratic. He has received many honors like Education Excellence Award, Times 40 Under 40 and EdTech CEO of the Year.
Dr. Hariom Panwar will be honored for his contribution in literature and education. Born in Butna village of Bulandshahr, who has made significant contribution in the field of literature and education, Dr. Hariom Panwar is the third personality to receive UP Gaurav Samman this year. The poems of Dr. Panwar, who was a professor of law in Meerut College, 'Kala Dhan', 'Ghati ke dil ki dhadkan', 'Main marte democracy ka bayan hoon' and 'Baaghi hain hum, inquilab ke geet sunate jayenge' are compositions that awaken the society. He has been awarded many honors including Nirala Award, Bharatiya Sahitya Sangam Award, Rashmi Award. The income from his literary works is used for the education of poor children and the welfare of the underprivileged.
Honor to Rashmi Arya for women empowerment: Rashmi Arya, who established Shrimad Dayanand Arya Kanya Gurukul on 22 October 2007 in Narangpur, Meerut, will be honored for her remarkable contribution in the field of women empowerment. His Gurukul is a beautiful synthesis of Vedic culture and modern education. Here, along with Sanskrit, Vedic education, Havan, music, English speaking and computer education are also given. Girls students of Gurukul have achieved achievements at national and international level in board examinations, Geeta-Ashtadhyayi competitions, yoga, archery and jump rope. At present, free education is being provided to more than 600 needy girls here.
Dr. Sudhanshu Singh will be honored for global recognition in agricultural science. Varanasi resident Dr. Sudhanshu Singh will be honored with UP Gaurav Samman for his special achievements in the field of agriculture. He graduated in Agriculture with a Gold Medal from Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya and obtained a PhD degree from IRRI, Philippines. His research on flood-tolerant Sub-1 rice gained him international recognition. Presently he is the Director of ISARC, Varanasi and has led international projects like BMGF, World Bank and USAID. In his 29 years of experience, he has given a new direction to sustainable agriculture.
