Digital Desk, New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu said that community participation strengthens national security and citizens should not be passive observers of events happening around them. He described "people's participation" as the basis of people-centric security.
Speaking at an event organized by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), President Murmu said that Internet media has changed the world of information and communication and has the potential of both creation and destruction. “Protecting people from misinformation is a very challenging task,” Murmu said. This work must be done continuously and effectively. There is a need to create a community of active internet media users who present fact-based narratives in the national interest.''

Murmu expressed confidence that "we will all move forward rapidly" towards building an alert, peaceful, secure and prosperous India through public participation. He said there were many examples of alert citizens who have helped professional forces avert security crises. People should not be passive observers of the events happening around them.
They should become alert and active participants in the security of their surrounding areas and beyond. 'Public participation' is the basis of people-centric security.'' Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Minister of State for Home Ministry Bundi Sanjay Kumar, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and IB chief Tapan Kumar Deka and others were present in the President's program.
