People filling water from tanker in Khoda. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad. In winter morning, people are afraid of even putting their hands in water, but in Khoda this picture is opposite, here people's morning starts by running for water. Women, children and men run from one ward to another with utensils in their hands. People allege that the municipality tanker comes and stops in the same street. Due to this, people living in other streets have to travel long distances to fetch water and bring it home.
70 tankers have been installed in Khoda for drinking water supply. People and people from opposition parties also claim that some of these are bad. People also complain about tankers not arriving regularly.
There is severe water shortage in Maitrika Vihar, Hayatnagar, Prem Vihar, Indra Vihar, Himalaya Enclave and other areas. People living in these areas have to face huge difficulties. People say that water is available only at one time. In this too, all the houses are not supplied by tankers and people have to face problems.
Tankers came to the areas twice
People have demanded that tankers should be sent in both morning and evening time zones. Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation should also arrange for a helpline number on which people can report their water related problems and drinking water can be provided within one to two hours.
Women and children have to suffer the most due to water shortage. Women have to leave household work and run for water.

Providing water is most important. People have to face problems even with the help of tankers. It is important that water reaches people's homes.
- Nawabuddin, local resident
It is said that the demand for water is less in winter but the municipality should understand that water should reach the houses as per the requirement.
- Ashish Gupta, local resident
The municipality should prepare an action plan for water. Even if it starts with one or two wards. This will gradually solve the problem.
