Continuous walking will increase the feeling of cold during day and night. Due to less temperature difference between day and night, there will be no respite from cold even during the day.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the weather patterns in the coming three to four days. It has been told that due to the influence of active weather system and continuous westerly movement in North-West India, cold day conditions may persist. The effect of cold will be more till 25th December. There will be moderate to dense fog from morning to evening. There will be partial clouds in the sky at some places. The maximum temperature will reach 16 to 17 degrees and the minimum will reach 9 to 11 degrees.
It has been told by the Meteorological Department that in the forecast period, winds will blow at a speed of five to seven kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of storm in many districts on 25th and 26th December. The day's maximum temperature was recorded at 14.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This is 7.5 degrees less than normal. In the last 24 hours, a decrease of about three and a half degrees has been recorded in the maximum temperature.
The minimum temperature has been recorded at 8.7 degrees. This is also less than normal. The minimum temperature has also decreased by two and a half degrees in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has also issued timely suggestions for farmers. It has been said that in foggy conditions, there is a greater possibility of frost and disease in crops. In such a situation, do light irrigation as per requirement. Spray insecticide only after the fog clears.

The cold gained momentum from Tuesday morning itself. Normal life remained affected due to icy winds throughout the day. Educational activity banned till class 8th till 28th
Due to the cold wave, educational activities up to class eight in government and private schools of the district as well as pre-school and Anganwadi have been banned till December 28. In this regard, instructions have been issued by DM Subrata Kumar Sen on Tuesday.
It has been told that classes above eighth can be conducted from 10 am to 3.30 pm. There is a possibility of adverse effects on the health and life of children due to extreme cold. Special classes and examinations conducted for pre-board or board exams have been exempted from this order.
City's air at dangerous level, AQI reaches 302
With the increasing cold, the level of pollution has also gained momentum. The air in the city reached dangerous levels on Tuesday. AQI level in the city crossed 300. This dangerous situation lasted for about three hours. The pollution level started declining in the afternoon. The highest AQI of 302 was recorded in Mithanpura area of the city.
Whereas the air in MIT and Collectorate areas was recorded in the moderate category. In Mithanpura, the amount of PM 2.5 reached more than 300, the maximum level of PM 10 reached 157, the level of NO-2 reached 45 and the level of carbon monoxide reached 103. For the last few days, the level of pollution in the city's air has been continuously increasing. Due to this, people are having trouble breathing in many areas. Due to pollution and cold, people have reduced going for morning walks.
