Digital Desk, New Delhi. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken steps to facilitate visa formalities for all 42 players and officials of Pakistani origin participating in the T20 World Cup in India.
It is known that in this list, the visa applications of England's Pakistan origin players Adil Rashid, Rehan Ahmed and fast bowler Saqib Mahmood have already been approved. Netherlands team members and Canadian support staff member Shah Salim Zafar have also got visas.
Players of Pakistani origin coming from which countries?
The US team coming to India for the T-20 World Cup also includes some players of Pakistani origin like Ali Khan and Shayan Jahangir and the Netherlands team includes some players of Pakistani origin like Zulfikar Saqib. Whereas the teams of UAE, Italy, Bangladesh and Canada have players and officials of Pakistani nationality or Pakistani origin.
Last date for issuing visa is 31 January
The process of providing visas for all these is also going on. Next week's date has been fixed for its necessary action. For this, the ICC is in constant touch with the Indian High Commissions located in many cities of different countries. The last date for issuance of visa for the participants is 31 January. The T-20 World Cup will start from February 7.
