With the aim of strengthening the thread of Sanatan culture, a national conference of All India Hindu Sanatan Santhal Samaj will be held in the historical and religious place Mandar Parvat complex of Baunsi block. Different teams are engaged in its preparation. This conference, to be held from 11 to 14 January 2026, is being inaugurated by Dharmajagran Coordination.
In this program, water samadhi will be performed in Papaharani lake in memory of hundreds of martyrs of Santhal community. Also, the aim is to get the Santhals who have adopted Christianity to return home by taking 'homa sankalp'. Santhali religious leaders from various states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Bengal will participate in this event. Thousands of tribals will also be administered the oath of abstinence from alcohol in the programme.
In fact, the four-day state Bounsi cum Mandar Mahotsav is being organized for years from January 14 on Makar Sankranti. During this time, the first gathering of people of serf religion takes place in Mandar. Here, tribal communities from Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and Nepal come and worship Lord Shiva by taking bath in Papaharani Sarovar. This time in Santal Mahakumbh, there will be a program of inauguration and consecration of Sri Sri Hariguru Dham.
People associated with the program said that 24 years ago, Pinda Daan was performed in the Damodar River in the memory of hundreds of Santhali martyrs like freedom fighters Sida Murmu, Kanhu Murmu, Phulo Jhano, Raghunath Murmu, Ganga Ram Murmu, Laxman.

In this regard, preacher of Dharmajagran coordination Arunji said that in the conference, there will be water samadhi for the Santhali martyrs to attain salvation. Besides, Havan and Sankalp program will be organized to connect thousands of Santhalis who have become Christians with Sanatan culture.
More than a hundred churches from Baunsi to Belhar
There are more than a hundred small and big churches built in tribal dominated Baunsi, Katoria, Belhar. Thousands of tribals have been converted by luring them with the promise of recovering from illness, building a house and marrying their daughter.
Such people gather in the church and participate in the prayer meeting. In this regard, Keshav Murmu, who converted from Christianity to Sanatan Dharma, said that he had converted him to Christianity by luring him to get cured of his disability. When his disability was not cured, he again joined Sanatan Dharma. He said that there is no religion bigger than Sanatan Dharma.
