Tourist bus overturned. (Awakening)
Jagran correspondent, Angul. A horrific road accident took place today in Gajapati district of Odisha. The bus carrying tourists from Khordha district returning after visiting Mahendragiri mountain went out of control and overturned near Badamasi Ghat under Raigarh block.
About 15 tourists have been injured in this accident, the condition of some of them is said to be critical.

According to the information, the tourist bus was going back towards Khordha after visiting Mahendragiri. As the bus reached the slopes of Badamasi Ghat, the driver lost control of the vehicle.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus suddenly lost its balance at the turn and overturned on the side of the road. Hearing the screams, local villagers immediately reached the spot and started rescue operations.
Police and villagers did rescue
As soon as the information was received, the team of Garabandha police station reached the spot. With the help of local people, the police rescued the passengers trapped in the bus. All the injured were immediately admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Paralakhemundi through ambulance.
All passengers are residents of Khordha
Police said that all the people traveling in the bus are residents of Khordha district. According to the hospital administration, the injured are undergoing treatment and are said to be out of danger. Police have registered a case of accident and started investigation whether the accident happened due to technical fault or negligence of the driver.
