The name of the victim is Anjel Chakma, who was a resident of Tripura. Anjel was a final year MBA student at Jigyasa University, Dehradun. He was seriously injured after the fatal attack on Angel. Angel died after fighting between life and death for several days in the hospital.

Actually, on December 9, at around 6-7 pm in Selaqui area of ​​Dehradun, Anjell had gone out with his younger brother Michael Chakma to buy groceries. During this time, some people under the influence of alcohol made racial comments on both the brothers.

According to reports, the attackers also used abusive language and made many derogatory statements. When both the brothers protested, the attackers started violence. During this, Michael was hit on the head. Meanwhile, Angela was stabbed in the neck and stomach. Angela was admitted to the local hospital, where she died on Friday.

Anjela's body was taken to Agartala via Delhi. Many leaders including family members were present at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. From there the body was taken to Anjela's native village Unakoti. Before his funeral, a large number of people gathered outside the house.

Demand made from central government

After the death of Angela, many student organizations including her family members have demanded intervention from the Central Government. He says that the culprits should be given strict punishment, as well as strict steps should be taken to solve the problem of racial remarks against the youth of the North-Eastern region.
