Jagran correspondent, Gurugram. Two workers who were painting by hanging a rope on the exterior of a building located in Sector 42 of Sushant Lok police station area, fell from the fifth floor. One person died in the accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
A worker is undergoing treatment in the civil hospital. On the complaint of the injured worker, the police have registered a case against two contractors under negligence and other sections.
Awadhesh was a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased worker was identified as Awadhesh, 30, a resident of Kalesar village in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is said that Awadhesh used to work as a laborer while living here in Gurugram. A few days ago, he got the job of painting the exterior of this building.
Ranvijay was also busy working with him. While Awadhesh was sitting on the roof railing holding a rope, Ranvijay was sitting on the outer part of the roof with the help of a rope and painting. Meanwhile, after losing control over the rope, both the companions fell down from the fifth floor.
Injured worker Ranvijay complained to the police
Both the workers who were seriously injured in the accident were taken to the hospital. Awadhesh died during treatment here on Tuesday night. In his complaint to the police, injured worker Ranvijay said that the contractor had employed him without safety equipment. That's why this accident happened.
On the complaint, Sushant Lok police station has registered a case against contractors Atul and Tavarez Alam. The police station said that the matter is being investigated. Soon action will be taken against the contractors.
