Digital Desk, New Delhi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has warned on the issue of terrorism, terming Pakistan as a "bad neighbour". Addressing students at IIT Madras, he said that if a neighboring country deliberately and persistently promotes terrorism, India has the full right to protect its people and will exercise this right.

Addressing students at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, the minister said no one can tell us what we should or should not do.

Actually, this statement of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar was in the context of Operation Sindoor conducted in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April last year. When India exercised its right to protect its people against terrorism through Operation Sindoor and targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in April.

The Foreign Minister said that our neighbors can also be bad. Unfortunately, so are ours. When our neighbors are bad, for example look at our neighbor to the west, if a country decides to continue terrorism deliberately, persistently and without remorse, then we have the right to protect our people against terrorism. We will exercise that right.
