UP: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Will Start Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project In January

State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow: To deal with the growing challenge of air pollution, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project to be launched with the assistance of the World Bank in January. The governing body of this project will be chaired by the Chief Secretary, while the Principal Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary will be nominated as members.

To deal with the serious problem of air pollution, the Yogi government is going to start a project with the help of the World Bank. On December 10, the project was formally approved by the Board of Directors of the World Bank. It is an airspace-based air quality management project, developed as a multi-sectoral program targeting major sources of air pollution in the Indo-Gangetic plains.

This project is based on extensive scientific studies conducted by the World Bank in collaboration with many prestigious institutions including IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi. This project of about Rs 2700 crore will be implemented to reduce air pollution in a phased manner over a period of six years from 2025 to 2031.
