Vehicles moving on a road covered with fog. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. Aaj Ka Mausham: The western disturbance active in the upper part of northwestern India has started showing its colors. The temperature in the city has suddenly dropped and the fog has increased. On Friday afternoon, icy wind blew and it started getting bitterly cold.
Due to this, the maximum temperature dropped by five degrees Celsius compared to the previous day. Dropped from 20 degrees Celsius to 14.8 degrees Celsius. This maximum temperature figure was 7.4 degrees less than the average. Due to this, Friday was considered a cold day as per the weather department's standards.
With humidity reaching 95 percent, it felt colder than the record temperature. According to meteorologist Kailash Pandey, this weather trend will continue for now. The process of dense fog and increasing cold will continue till the new year.
The meteorologist said that there is snowfall in the mountains due to western disturbance becoming active in the northwest. In such a situation, the westerly wind blowing in the upper atmosphere has become icy. The cold of the mountains along with the wind is reaching Gorakhpur and surrounding areas. Due to this the melting has increased. The cold is also being supported by the moist cyclone running in the lower atmosphere.
