UP Panchayat Elections: 'Third Eye' Guards 44 Lakh Ballot Papers Coming From Delhi, 24-hour Khaki Vigil In Collectorate!

Jagran correspondent, Amroha. The administration is busy preparing for the three-tier Panchayat elections. It has set up a temporary post at the Collectorate for the security of ballot papers and there will be a 24-hour khaki guard outside the strong room. One head constable and two constables have been deployed at the post. About 44,60,500 ballot papers of Pradhan, District Panchayat, Area Panchayat and Panchayat members have been ordered from Delhi.

These ballot papers kept in the strong room will be guarded by a third eye. The strong room has been sealed and CCTV cameras have been installed outside it. This year, elections will be held for the post of head in 576 gram panchayats of the district. Along with this, elections for District Panchayat members, Area Panchayat and Gram Panchayat members will also be held. This time too, voters will decide the fate of the candidates through ballot paper only.

550 ballot boxes have been ordered from Kanpur for the elections. Now the ballot papers have been ordered from Delhi and kept safe in the strong room located in the Collectorate. There are 568100 ballot papers for Gram Panchayat member, 12,97,300 for Pradhan, 12,57,900 for BDC member and 13,37,200 for District Panchayat member.

Let us tell you that the administration has made Additional Sub-Collector Court Room-3 a strong room to keep the ballot papers. On which there will be a 24 hour khaki guard. For this a temporary police post has been created. Three police personnel each will protect him in three shifts.

Voters increased in Panchayats

There were 9,96,303 voters in the district in the 2021 Panchayat elections. But this time their number has increased to 10,40,860. In the revision campaign, 1,46,725 new people have become voters in Panchayats. While 12,924 have amended name, address etc. At the same time, names of 1,02,168 have been removed from the voter lists. These include deceased, shifted and duplicate voters.

The ballot papers have been kept in the strong room located at the Collectorate. Police personnel have been deployed for their security. CCTV cameras have also been installed.
