The miscreant who fired at the police is in police custody.
Samvad Sutra Jagran, Saharanpur. The accused, wanted in a case of attempt to murder, was injured by police bullets in a police encounter on Harora Pali Marg. The injured criminal was admitted to CHC Harora. Police recovered a pistol, two cartridges and a shell from the possession of the arrested criminal.
Giving information, SO Pravesh Sharma said that in the encounter with miscreants on Chandpur Road late on Tuesday evening, a miscreant had escaped taking advantage of the darkness. On the night of 16/17 December, the town post in-charge along with the police force was patrolling the road from village Harora to village Pali in his private vehicle.
Just then a person on the way saw the private vehicle and signaled it to stop. As soon as the police team stopped the car, the miscreant, seeing the police, started firing with the intention of killing and running away. The criminal got injured by a bullet in his leg in the retaliatory firing by the police team while chasing him.
The injured criminal Khalid, son of Alauddin, is a resident of Tarapuri police station, Lisadigate, Meerut district. Whom the police has admitted to the hospital.
The criminal was wanted in a case of attempt to murder registered at the police station and about one and a half dozen cases of attempt to murder, theft, Arms Act and Gangster Act are registered against him in various police stations of the district, including Ghaziabad and Meerut.
