Jagran correspondent, Rae Bareli. Now booking roadways buses for private functions like wedding processions and picnics has been made easier than ever. The Transport Corporation has changed the booking rules for the convenience of passengers and to increase its income. Now you can book a bus by reaching the roadways depot not a month but a week in advance.
Many times even private buses are not available to book on Sahalag or other special dates. In such a situation, people come and book many small vehicles.
The transport corporation has fixed the bus fare for weddings, picnics and other private functions at only Rs 27,808 for a distance of 400 kilometers (to and fro) and for 24 hours. For bus booking, the applicant will have to submit an application in the ARM office. A wedding card will have to be attached with the application for the wedding ceremony.
Minimum booking will be done for 400 kilometers only. Even if the journey distance is less than this, the fare will be charged according to 400 kilometers only. At the same time, if the distance covered is more than 400 kilometers, additional charges will have to be paid as per the prescribed rate. Regional Manager RK Tripathi says that roadways buses are not only cheap but also safe. This change in the rules will provide relief to the people and will also increase the income of the transport corporation.
