Dense fog remained prevalent in many districts including Kannauj, Hamirpur, Unnao, Mahoba, Auraiya, Banda, Etawah, Orai, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Kanpur Dehat and Farrukhabad since Friday morning. There was no sunlight throughout the day in Hamirpur and due to drizzle the cold increased further. The pain increased due to the cold wind. The minimum temperature was recorded between 7 to 10 degrees and the maximum between 14.5 to 21 degrees Celsius. To protect themselves from cold, people resorted to bonfires and heaters. 55 year old farmer Randhir Singh died due to cold in Airayan area of Fatehpur.
The Meteorological Department has predicted further increase in cold in the coming days. 10-year-old Shiva, a resident of Malgujra, Rasulabad, Kanpur Dehat, near Tundla station in Muri Express, died after his health deteriorated. Father Mahesh Pal has expressed fear of death due to cold. Due to dense fog in Auraiya, Tejas Express coming from Delhi had to be stopped at Phaphund railway station. However, the train was dispatched after two minutes.
64 cases of heart attack and 94 cases of brain stroke were reported in Kanpur, seven died.

Even in the emergency, 153 patients came with complaints of angina pain, difficulty in breathing and chest pain. Of these, 64 patients had to be admitted due to serious condition. At the same time, seven patients died before reaching cardiology.
