State Bureau, Lucknow. Power Corporation Chairman Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal, while reviewing the work of power distribution corporations on Wednesday, expressed his displeasure at many officials. Chief Engineers of Kanpur, Banda, Sitapur, Gorakhpur and Jhansi were warned on poor performance.
Instructions were given to transfer Mirzapur Chief Engineer Manoj while Assistant Engineer Ashutosh Kumar was suspended. The Chairman also instructed Kasganj Assistant Engineer Sushil Kumar to give adverse entry.
During the review, the Chairman said that the progress of registration of never paid and theft cases under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme is slow. Action will be taken against those officers who do not do good work in the areas under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. He told the officers to contact each defaulter and tell them the benefits of the scheme and deposit the outstanding amount. He said that the officers should take the cooperation of all the departments along with the district administration and take the scheme to every consumer. Ensure publicity through meter readers, feeder managers, pamphlets, newspapers, WhatsApp messages, caller tunes as well as other internet and print media.
He said that for the first time in the scheme, along with 100 percent interest waiver, huge discount is also being given in the principal amount. You will get the benefit of more discount if you register early and deposit the dues. You will also get relief and relief from lawsuits in cases of electricity theft. Under the scheme, 25 percent discount on principal amount is also available.
The Chairman has informed that till now 3,62,854 never paid and long unpaid consumers have registered under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. Due to which revenue of Rs 282.91 crore has been achieved. 4911 consumers trapped in electricity theft cases have also registered under the scheme.
Incentive scheme for personnel has also been implemented in this scheme. There is a system of giving incentive amount to the personnel and collection agencies who give good results. 10 Executive Engineers, 20 Sub Divisional Officers and 30 Junior Engineers who have performed best above the prescribed standard in all Discoms will be given incentive amount along with citation.
