Jagran correspondent, Fatehgarh Sahib. The annual martyrdom gathering dedicated to the martyrdom of Chhote Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri ji has ended, but it has left behind many questions and issues. These issues have become a topic of discussion these days. One of these issues is becoming very viral on the internet media. In which some teenagers wearing nihangs are removing warm caps from the heads of passers-by and hanging them around their necks. Sikh community is strongly criticizing this act on internet media.

For the last few years, during the Shaheedi Sabha, there have been cases of Nihang Bana Pehli teenagers and youth removing the caps of pedestrians and forcibly taking away the goods of temporary shopkeepers in the city. Which the Sikh Sangat has been opposing. This year, a video went viral on the internet media in which passers-by wearing Nihang robes and carrying Neza (spear) in their hands are shown taking off the warm caps worn in the cold and walking around with their legs crossed.

This video of Shaheedi Sabha viral on internet media is from Aam Khas Bagh to Jyoti Swaroop Mod. In the video, Sikh Sangat is seen protesting against this. When the sangat attending the martyr's meeting interrupts the teenagers walking around in Nihang attire with their caps hung on their necks, they are heard arguing with them. They say that you are opposing us by being a Sardar, in response to this the Sikh Sangat replied that we are Sikhs and therefore are opposing your wrong actions. This viral video of Nihang teenagers is being heavily criticized on the internet media. Nihang groups have also termed this action as unjustified.

SGPC member Avtar Singh Riya considers this action against Sikh dignity. He says that Guru Sahiban welcomed all religions and opened the doors of Guru Ghar for everyone. Today some people are misleading the sect. Regarding those who took off their caps while wearing Nihang clothes during the martyrdom meeting, he said that perhaps these people have not even spilled the nectar, they are impostors, who are defaming the sect. Rhea also justified the protest by Sikh Sangat.

He said that in the coming time, by talking to the Nihang groups, those doing anti-social activities in Nihang Bane will be controlled. The administration will also be asked to take action against such people. He said that removing the warm caps of small children, elderly people and women on the road in the cold is not in accordance with Sikh dignity in any way, it is sheer hooliganism. Which the administration should stop under law.

Retired DSP and social worker Keval Singh, who reached here from Bathinda on Tuesday after watching the viral video on the internet media, bowed down at Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and apologized for the indecent act done during the martyrdom meeting in Nihang Bane in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. With the help of Nambardar Union, he decorated the heads of children and youth. Kewal Singh responded by saying that such action is contrary to the teachings of Guru Sahib, which cannot be justified.
