State Bureau, Jagran, Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred the pension installment for the month of January, 2026 under various social security pension schemes of the Social Welfare Department to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Under this initiative, a total amount of Rs 141 crore 66 lakh 51 thousand was sent directly into the accounts of 9,47,345 eligible beneficiaries of the state. This included arrear payment along with regular pension.
The government says that this step is important towards strengthening the technology-based, transparent and sensitive governance system.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is continuously working for the welfare of the weak, old, disabled, widows, farmers, destitute and needy sections of the society.
The aim of the government is that all the eligible beneficiaries should get the benefits of the schemes through a timely, transparent and simple process, so that they do not have to face any kind of problem.
He said that DBT and One Click Payment System have curbed corruption and beneficiaries are getting financial assistance directly without visiting offices.
This month, assistance was given to most of the beneficiaries under the Old Age Pension Scheme. Apart from this, thousands of citizens also got the benefit of social security through widow, disabled, farmer, abandoned, maintenance grant, Tilu Rauteli and dwarf pension schemes. This wide coverage reflects the inclusive policy of the state government.
On this occasion, Additional Secretary Sandeep Tiwari and other officials of the Social Welfare Department were present.
15,784 new beneficiaries added to pension schemes
According to the government, from December 1, 2025 to February 3, 2026, 15,784 new beneficiaries were added to social security pension schemes. Also, to ensure transparency, 1,523 ineligible names were removed from the portal while verifying the deceased beneficiaries.
Digital pension portal, automatic age-eligibility detection and regular monitoring have also yielded positive results. From April, 2024 to January, 2026, old age pension was automatically sanctioned to 428 eligible citizens as soon as they completed 60 years of age.
