New twist in the PhD student case, answers may be sought from the Vice Chancellor of the University.

Jagran correspondent, Hisar. The case of molestation of a PhD student in the Bio-Technology College of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) is continuously gaining momentum. On one hand, student organizations have become active and are warning of agitation and demanding justice for the student. On the other hand, the university administration seems to be avoiding answering.

The matter has now also come to the notice of Haryana State Women Commission, which is busy gathering facts at its level. When the media persons reached the Vice Chancellor's office on Friday for talks, they were postponed saying that the Vice Chancellor was not present in the university campus.

After this, when an attempt was made to meet the Dean of Bio-Technology College, entry was stopped at the college gate itself. The argument was made that bacteria could come inside with shoes when coming from outside, whereas the media persons wanted to go to meet the dean in the office and not in the lab. Not only was the media stopped on the grounds of bacteria, but they were also not allowed to meet the victim.

Investigation continues in Bhiwani KVK case, waiting for justice

Another case related to Haryana Agricultural University was earlier reported from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) located in Bhiwani district, the investigation into the incident of fights and molestation that took place around Diwali has not been completed yet.

The investigation committee constituted by the university administration is busy investigating this matter, but no final conclusion has come yet. Following the allegations in this case, the administration took immediate action and transferred one of the accused scientists. Even after months have passed, neither the investigation has been completed nor has the victim received justice. Even today we are still waiting.

I did not ban anyone's entry to meet. On the basis of the written complaint of the student, the university management has constituted an inquiry committee and started investigation. The allegations being made against him of suppressing the case are baseless and he has not given any order to impose any kind of restriction on the entry of media. - KD Sharma, Dean, College of Bio-Technology, HKRVI, Hisar

The matter has come to my notice. I have instructed the staff to gather information about the facts and if necessary, a reply can be sought from the Vice Chancellor of the University. Renu Bhatia, Chairman, Haryana State Women Commission

In the past also, girl students have given many such complaints against the university employees. Especially against the library employees, against whom no action is taken. The university administration is given an ultimatum of seven days, if the situation is not resolved then the students will stage a protest in front of the VC office. Dean said - no restrictions, staff gave orders

Administrative contradictions also came to light in the college campus. Assistant Professor Navjeet, who was on duty, stopped the media from entering and said that he had received orders from the Dean. Later, when contacted on phone, the Dean of the college, Prof. KD Sharma said that there is no restriction of any kind on entry in the college.

Registrar did not pick up the phone. Attempts were made to contact University Registrar Pawan on phone several times, but he did not receive the call. When I tried to know the side of the accused, they also did not pick up the phone.
