Jagran Correspondent, Haridwar: There was chaos in Ransura village of Haridwar Forest Division when a leopard reached near the population and climbed a poplar tree. Was stuck there for about four hours.

As soon as the news of Guldar's appearance was received, an atmosphere of panic was created in the area. A huge crowd of villagers gathered near the fields to see Guldar. The Forest Department team tranquilized Guldar after a lot of effort. Guldar has been taken to Chidiyapur Rescue Centre. Where Guldar is undergoing treatment.

According to eyewitnesses, Guldar came towards the population from the forest of Pathri area on Friday afternoon. According to forest department officials, possibly frightened by the noise of dogs or human movement, he climbed a poplar tree in the middle of the fields.

After climbing the tree, Guldar got stuck on the tree itself and could not come down. During this time the villagers immediately informed the forest department.

The forest department team reached the spot about two hours after receiving the information. The team included range officers, forest guards and specialist staff. Keeping security in mind, first of all the surrounding area was evacuated and the crowd was controlled.

The Forest Department started the rescue operation with full caution. Under the supervision of experts, Guldar was tranquilized on the tree itself. After which the tree was cut, only then the Guldar trapped in the middle of the branch of the tree was rescued.
