Digital Desk, New Delhi. Strongly criticizing Congress leader Praveen Chakraborty's comments on Tamil Nadu's debt situation, party state president K Selvaperunthagai on Monday said his views are not the voice of the Congress party.
He also stressed that the Congress party's alliance with the DMK is as strong as an iron fort. The TNCC chief said, "We will not allow anyone within the Congress to raise the voice of RSS or BJP. I want to make it clear that Chakraborty's statements are not the voice of the Congress party."
'Will not let you work like a spy'
He further said, "The alliance with the DMK is as strong as an iron fort. No one can break it. We will not allow any force - whether inside or outside - to help the BJP gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu or act as its spy."
He said that the authorized voices for the party are he (state president), AICC leader Girish Chodankar, party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. He has sent a formal complaint to the AICC President regarding the controversy involving Chakraborty.
In fact, Professionals Congress Chairman Praveen Chakraborty created a controversy by posting on Facebook about the debt situation of Tamil Nadu under the DMK government. Comparing the state's debt with that of Uttar Pradesh, he said that in 2010 UP had more than double the debt of Tamil Nadu, but now Tamil Nadu leads with the highest outstanding debt and heavy interest burden.
