Jagran Team, Kanpur. There was a rapid change in the weather in UP due to the activation of western disturbance. The movement of clouds increased. Because of this the coldness increased at night. By Tuesday evening, it rained in many districts including Kanpur, Etawah, Auraiya.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 24 and the minimum temperature was 10 degrees Celsius at the Meteorological Center of CSA Agricultural University, Kanpur. The maximum percentage of moisture in the atmosphere was 92 and the minimum percentage was 55. The wind continued to blow from the eastern direction at an average speed of three km per hour.
Meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that due to the activation of a new western disturbance, there is a possibility of rain along with strong wind. If the movement of clouds continues during the day, the temperature may drop by five degrees Celsius. He has advised the farmers not to irrigate their crops for the next four days. Because there is a possibility of crop failure due to fields being filled with water and strong winds.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in Bundelkhand, Western and Central Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur division between January 29. The night temperature will fluctuate by one to three degrees Celsius. There will be a feeling of cold at night due to wind blowing in Kanpur division. There are chances of wind blowing at a speed of 20 km per hour.
Rain increased cold in Auraiya
Sun God was seen in Auraiya on Tuesday morning. But after some time the sun got covered in clouds. The wind speed remained fast. It started raining in the evening. Meteorologist Dr. SN Sunil Pandey said that the speed of winds has increased due to the new western disturbance. He advised farmers to postpone irrigation activities for three to four days. If the wind blows more strongly, the fear of crops falling in waterlogged fields will increase. There was 90 percent humidity in the atmosphere. The wind blew at a speed of eight kilometers per hour.
Cold returned due to drizzle in Etawah
After being cloudy throughout the day in Etawah, drizzle started at 3.30, which continued intermittently. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at six and maximum at 20 degrees Celsius. Due to change in weather and drop in temperature due to drizzle starting after 3:30 in the day, people started feeling cold. Due to strong sunlight for the last two weeks, people started feeling heat during the day. However, people were afraid of change in weather and rain. Meteorologists had predicted rain on 28 and 29 January.
Weather worsened due to strong wind and drizzle in Farrukhabad
The weather took a turn on Tuesday evening due to drizzle which started with strong icy wind. Due to which the cold increased and life was affected. Due to increasing cold, people remained confined to their homes since evening, while there was silence in the markets also. At the same time, the problems of potato farmers have also increased due to rain.
Chance of rain in Kannauj on Wednesday also
There was sporadic light rain in Kannauj district at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening. Due to this, the minimum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 19 degrees. The cold was aggravated by north-easterly and north-westerly winds blowing at a speed of eight kilometers per hour. Meteorologist Dr. Amarendra Yadav said that there is no possibility of hailstorm at present, but there is a possibility of rain till around 2 pm on Wednesday.
Cold increased due to light rain in Unnao
In Unnao district late evening on Tuesday, drizzle at some places and light rain at other places made the weather cold again. At the same time, people who came out of their homes without preparing themselves for protection from the rain got drenched and shivered. The minimum temperature was recorded at 10 and maximum at 24 degree Celsius.
Know whether this rain is beneficial or harmful for farming
At the same time, Dr. Akshay Kumar, in-charge of Agriculture Defense Department Block Maheva in Etawah, said that drizzle will prove beneficial for the wheat crop. But if there is excessive rain, it can be harmful for the crops of gram, potato and mustard. The mustard crop in which it is flowering will be damaged due to flower fall. It will take a long time for new flowers to appear, which may have a slight adverse effect on the yield.
Benefit for wheat, loss for vegetables
Meteorologist Dr. Amarendra Singh Yadav said that about three mm of rainfall has occurred. If excess water falls then it is beneficial for wheat whereas late season vegetables including mustard, potato, tomato and peas will suffer. The weather is likely to remain clear on Wednesday. He told that due to the effect of western disturbance there is snowfall on the mountains. Due to this it is raining in the plains. Due to this the temperature will drop and there will be a possibility of loss in the subsequent crops.
