ANI, Howrah (West Bengal). A major accident was averted in Howrah, West Bengal on Saturday morning. Here a massive fire suddenly broke out after oil leaked from an oil tanker, due to which many vehicles parked nearby were burnt to ashes.

As soon as information about the incident was received, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and after much effort the fire was controlled.

Clarifying the situation, Howrah Police Commissioner Praveen Kumar Tripathi said, "The fire has been completely brought under control. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of any casualty or injury in this accident."

At present, the police and administration are investigating the exact cause of the fire and strict security arrangements have been made in the affected area.
