When A Girl Crossed The Border And Fought For The Country, Watch The Story Of Bravery In A 2 Hour 20 Minute Film

When a girl crossed the border and fought for the country

Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. Many brave soldiers have given martyrdom for our country and even today many soldiers are standing at the border to protect the country, risking their lives. There are many protectors of the country who served the country by risking their lives but they remain anonymous today.

Among them, there was a girl who worked as a spy agent for the country across the border and for this she even had to get married in a neighboring country. Yes, although the story of this brave girl did not go anonymous, rather a novel was written on it and later a film was also made on it.

Got married after crossing the border

The former Lieutenant Commander of the Indian Navy had published his book in 2008, which tells about a Kashmiri woman who was married to a Pakistani officer to get information about the war strategy of the enemy country. He had given intelligence information to India during the India-Pakistan war.

Gave intelligence information for the country

The most important information that this girl gave while living with her Pakistani husband was about the attack on INS Viraat. The author said that it was because of him that India was able to save its greatest glory.

India had won a big battle

The sinking of INS Viraat would have been a major blow to the Indian Army for the Pakistani Army. This warship worked as a helicopter carrier, anti-submarine and was equipped with many useful electronic equipment which was used by the army during wars. This information proved to be a turning point in the India-Pakistan war.

A film has been made on this in Bollywood

The good thing is that we can see this story in the form of a film. The name of this film is Raazi in which Alia Bhatt has played the lead role. Along with Alia, Vicky Kaushal has played the role of her husband. The fact that Raazi is based on a true story of the 1971 India-Pakistan war makes the film more interesting than anything else. It is based on Harinder Sikka's novel 'Calling Sehmat'.

In an interview with The Hindu, Harinder Sikka told how he met Indian spy Sehmat (name changed), whose story inspired him to write the novel.

During the war, Sikka went to Kargil to do a media report on the Army's alleged intelligence failure about which he had become aware. He doubted the patriotism of the people of the country, but when he met Sehmat, a common Indian who risked her life to provide intelligence to the Indian Army, his beliefs changed completely.

He told, 'I was very angry then and also questioned the patriotism of some people of the Intelligence Department. During one such discussion there, an army officer told me that not everyone is the same. I couldn't believe it much, on which he gave me the example of his mother, which surprised me a lot.

Kargil is over, but I often think about the courageous act of this undercover woman who returned to the country pregnant with her Pakistani husband's child and gave a good officer to the Indian Army.

How different was Alia's character from real life?

Harinder Sikka told, 'She did not talk much. Gradually, he started talking, but I still don't know how he extracted so much intelligence from Pakistani Intelligence. Whatever information he gave from there, it matched the Indian Intelligence report here.

Son serves in Indian Army

Now Sehmat is no more and his son serves in the Indian Army. It took Sikka eight years to fictionalize his story and make a good story. He said, 'It was necessary to make it fictional because it could have been dangerous for his family'.
