State Bureau, New Delhi. The winter session of Delhi Assembly will begin with the address of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta told a press conference on Friday that important legislative and procedural matters will be discussed in the winter session starting from January 5. A notification has been issued regarding the holding of the assembly session.
He further informed that all administrative and procedural preparations are being made to conduct the session in a smooth and orderly manner. Coordination has been established between various branches of the Assembly Secretariat, and necessary logistics arrangements are being made to ensure that the proceedings of the House run without any interruption. He informed that important legislative and procedural work will be completed in the House during this four-day session, and several important documents are proposed to be introduced.
Sources believe that the CAG report on the expenditure incurred on the maintenance of the so-called 'Sheesh Mahal', the residence of the former Chief Minister, may be presented during the Assembly session. It is expected that BJP members will use this report to corner the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). On the other hand, AAP members can level allegations against the BJP government on pollution and other issues. Acharya Lokesh, present in the press conference, also gave information about the nine-day Ramkatha program to be held at Bharat Mandapam from 17 to 25 January.
