Communication Assistant, Dhaulana (Hapur). The case of an innocent person resident of Karanpur Jatt being sent behind the bars just because of the similarity of his name and his father's name is shocking to humanity. Rajendra son Brahmapal is in jail for the last six days without any fault.
The most painful aspect of this tragedy is that his son Sonu has been making rounds of police stations and offices for the last six days for his father's release, but till now he has not been able to get relief. The family says that this entire incident is the result of not proper verification of documents.
Police admitted that there was confusion due to matching name.
Top police officials are also admitting that confusion had arisen due to similarity of father's name. A common citizen had to suffer the consequences of this negligence by losing his freedom, which is a matter of serious concern for any sensitive system.
In this regard, CO Anita Chauhan said that the matter is being investigated. If the investigation reveals negligence on the part of any policeman, strict departmental action will be taken against him. He also acknowledged that a thorough verification of papers and identity was mandatory before arrest. The family still hopes that the investigation will be completed soon and innocent Rajendra will get justice so that no one else has to suffer the same fate.
